Directions To The Clock Tower...
"Clock Tower Buildings, Low Wood, Haverthwaite, Cumbria, LA12 8LY"
Using postcode "LA12 8LY" with most satellite navigation systems will bring you directly to the Clock Tower car park.
From the M6 or Kendal
- From the M6, Junction-36, bear westward onto the A591 for approx 3.5 miles, signposted "Kendal & Barrow-in-Furness".
- At the first junction (called "Brettargh Holt"), bear down the slip-road and take the first roundabout exit onto the A590 (signposted "Barrow-in-Furness").
- Continue along the A590 for about 14 miles, through two roundabouts (one at Lindale, and the other at Newby-Bridge).
- After Newby-bridge, at the start of the second section of dual-carridgeway, turn left into "Haverthwaite" (opposite a preserved steam-railway). If you miss this, take the next left (300 yards) at the cross-roads.
- Head down to the left of the "Anglers Arms", and continue for about a 0.5 miles until you reach a T-junction.
- Turn left, and continue for about 300 yards. Cross over the river "Leven" and immediately after the bridge, turn left into the hamlet of Low Wood.
- After 50 yards, take the first turning left into the car park of the Clock Tower buildings.
From Barrow-in-Furness
- Follow the A590 from Barrow, through Ulverston and Greenodd, heading towards Newby-Bridge.
- After passing Greenodd, after about 1.5 miles you will pass the "Rusland Pool" pub on your left
- Continue for another 0.5 miles after this, you will reach Haverthwaite 'Hollow Oak' Crossroads. Turn right, signposted "Cark / B5278".
- Head for about a 0.5 miles down through Haverthwaite, and bear round a sharp corner to the right.
- Continue for about 300 yards. Cross over the river "Leven" and immediately after the bridge, turn left into the hamlet of Low Wood.
- After 50 yards, take the first turning left into the car park of the Clock Tower buildings.
